Client Overview

United Way of Southeastern Michigan (UWSEM) supports academic and social-emotional success for students across four Metro Detroit districts- Southfield Public School District, River Rouge, Pontiac School District, and Hazel Park Schools- through it’s Community Schools model. UWSEM also convenes a regional Parent Community of Practice (Parent CoP), providing space for parents, guardians, and caregivers to connect, grow, and build capacity in supporting their children’s well-being.

Scope of Work

Parent-Focused Workshops & Trainings | Spring- Fall 2023

Workshop Facilitator for a series of holistic wellness and communication-focused workshops for caregivers in both the Parent CoP and across select Community Schools. Services were customized to reflect the unique goals, cadence, and audiences of each initiative.

Parent Community of Practice (Quarterly Network Meetings)

Focus Area: Holistic Living

Delivered a brief virtual workshop that offered parents and caregivers practical tools to better care for themselves holistically. The session focused on burnout prevention, life-harmony, and boundary setting.

Hazel Park Schools- United Oaks Elementary (Bi)Monthly Parent Meetings

Focus Area: Parent-Child Communications & Emotional Wellness

Facilitated a 3-part interactive training series for caregivers and school staff, focusing on family dynamics, intergenerational healing, and intentional parenting strategies.

Focus Area: Self-Stewardship & Self-Care

Led a power wellness centered session as part of their Mother’s Day appreciation event, focused on recognizing burnout, finding life-harmony, and prioritizing well-being.
