Through a two-generation (2Gen) approach, the organization also supports caregivers in the cultivating family well-being, resilience, and generational change.

  • Corporate Workshops & Trainings | Fall 2023

    Workshop Facilitation for a series of staff trainings and caregiver workshops based on trauma informed care, mentorship, and holistic well-being- aligned with the organization’s mission to support youth and their families over 12+ years, no matter what.

  • Audience: Full-time professional mentors and administrators

    Focus Area: Trauma-Informed Practice, Mentorship Impact, Coaching

    • Session 1: An Introduction to Trauma-Informed Mentoring

      Offered mentors with guidance to recognize, and respond to children 1 or more adverse childhood experience. Furthermore, reduce the effects of trauma in mentor-mentee dynamics.

    • Session 2: The Role of Mentors in Academic Success

      Explored how sustained, supportive relationships contribute to the whole-child development and academic achievement.

      Topics Included:

      • Relationship-building strategies

      • Academic benefits of mentoring

      • Coaching styles

  • Audience: Caregivers in the Friends of Children- Detroit community

    Focus Area: Holistic Living + Emotional Wellness

    • Burnout, Boundaries & Life-Harmony: Becoming a Better Steward of Your Life

      A trauma-informed session designed to help caregivers identify signs and symptoms of burnout, establish healthy boundaries, re-center, reconnect with their own needs, and build a sustainable holistic lifestyle.
