Detroit is at a crossroads — revival and innovation on one hand, inequity and systemic strain on the other. HerDetroit, HerFuture: Grounding Our Vision, Keeping Boots on the Ground (BTS Edition) is a transformative WELL Woman Talk x Kickback activation held in partnership with Black Tech Saturdays’ Digital Empowerment Summit 2025.

This evening unapologetically centers the brilliance, burdens, and unseen labor of Black and Brown women leading Detroit’s future across wellness, tech, equity, and civic life. From the historical significance of “boots on the ground” to the contemporary need for grounding and wellness, the experience embodies the power of work, rest, and play—Detroit-style.

What to Expect:

  • Somatic Wellness Activation (15 min) led by Emefa Boamah, Somatic & Embodiment Coach

  • Special Guest Appearance by Detroit City Council President, Mary Sheffield

  • WELL Woman Talk - The Builders & The Burden: The Labor of Leading, Healing, and Holding the City — a 60-minute panel centering the unrecognized brilliance and labor of women who are innovating, organizing, healing, and holding Detroit together.

  • The Community Kickback — Detroit Hustles, curated music, and the Boots on the Ground Dance + Best Fit Competition with prizes
